Important Update on Opening
Important Update Re: First Day at Brierley
Dear Parents and Carers,
After one day in my new job I need to inform you that unfortunately the opening of the new building will be delayed by 48 hours. We’re doing everything we can to get the building ready for our new students, but some things that are out of our hands such as deliveries of building materials and workers’ availability have meant that the new building cannot be handed over to us on time; we sincerely apologise for the delay and understand you and your child’s disappointment.
We want to give the new students of Co-op Academy Brierley a really positive new start in a brand new building. The work only started at Easter this year, so a tight deadline of 30th August was always going to be at risk of overrunning, however after my visit today I want to share that the new building at Co-op Academy Brierley looks outstanding, and will be ready for your child in a few days.
New Start Date: Wednesday 13th September
Instead of children’s first day being Monday 11th this will now be Wednesday 13th September. We will inform Leeds City Council of this delay so that Special Needs transport will now start on Wednesday 13/09/23.
Coffee Afternoon for Parents: 12th September
We know that moving into a new building means that parents and carers haven’t been able to see the new space their children will be learning in, so we’d like to invite parents to a to an open afternoon on Tuesday 12th September at 2-3pm for you and your child to visit the new building and meet the teachers and support staff.
We are so sorry for this delay and understand the frustrations this will cause, but we are sure that an extra 48 hours will give us the time to make sure your child’s experience is a positive one from their very first day.
We appreciate your support and patience.
Thank you
